Amedea is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter from Mineola, Texas. Inspired by music from a time before auto-tune, Amedea writes songs based on her experiences growing up as a wallflower and independent spirit—accompanied by acoustic guitars, Americana flair and pure-bell tone vocals.

In the summer of 2023, Amedea was introduced to East Texas native and Nashville-based producer, engineer, guitarist and NPR radio host, Geoffrey Mutchnik. Geoffrey began mentoring Amedea at the request of her father. The two met by chance at a coffee shop while Geoffrey was visiting his hometown of Tyler, Texas. Geoffrey and Amedea met later that day and quickly bonded over their shared experiences in high school marching band percussion section, with Amedea bringing the unique distinction of having sung in the Alamodome while fronting the Mineola High School marching band during its gold medal state season. Twice over the following weeks Geoffrey set up a makeshift recording studio in Amedea’s family’s living room and the two worked on original songs at the kitchen table.

At a comedy open mic in December of 2023, Amedea performed two cover songs for Geoffrey and informed him that she had graduated high school early to dedicate time to work on music. In February of 2024, Amedea and Geoffrey began working together at the historic KSIJ radio station studio in Gladewater, Texas operated by Chad Mauldin. Over the course of one month, Maudlin rented the original program manager’s office to Geoffrey where he and Amedea co-wrote ten songs together as songwriting exercises, concluding with "Blue." 

Amedea also performed covers with Geoffrey at Logan’s Place in Mineola, Texas, where Kacey Musgraves was notably in attendance during Amedea’s third performance, just ahead of a total eclipse in Texas. Amedea continued expanding her catalog of covers through the year and played a total of 26 performances around East Texas. She is pictured above performing at Logan’s Place.

In the Summer of 2025, Amedea continued her musical journey moving to Nashville and working in partnership with Geoffrey and his peers. In March of 2026, she recorded a live acoustic performance video entitled Juniper Bloom—expected to be released in full later this year.
